Lebanese-French Seminar on cooperation between universities (from 27 to 29 November 2008)

The Franco-Lebanese academic seminar held in Beirut from 27 to 29 November 2008, attended by representatives of major Francophone Lebanese universities and French universities working in Lebanon, was an occasion to reinforce the existing cooperation and to reflect the broad guidelines that should oversee its progress.

Saida, located in south Lebanon, is considered to be a neglected region in Lebanon. The city afflicted by the conflict with Israel, hosts a large number of Palestinian refugees and is characterized by sectarian and doctrinal diversity. (Available in French)
In a country still threatened by sectarian segregation in its community, Solidarity Laïque has been involved since 1989 in a process of bringing people together regardless of their origin and religious belief. (Available in French)
The objectives of this project is to contribute to the rapid post-conflict recovery in 4 Caza in the Mohafazah of South Lebanon and Nabatiyeh, addressing two main problems : a) risk of UXO/mines that threatens mostly those groups whose houses and camps were bombarded and who depend on these belongings for their survival; b) victims of UXO/mines to be supported psychologically and with services, potentially addressing their socioeconomic insertion.
A program of collaboration held in Lebanon among SL, MLF, GREF and TWT in order to support public education. (Available in French)
MED'ACT is a program of decentralized cooperation held by the European commission, addressing European Union cities and the Mediterranean partner countries. All activities are managed, proposed and implemented by the partners themselves. (Available in French)
