Objective
Supporting the micro and small agricultural producers of Lebanon by favoring the marketing of their products on the local market.
Expected Results
Selected the agricultural producers and identified a
market strategy that will increase the income
opportunities of the producers.
Strengthened the productive processes and
improved the producers’ capacities and knowledge of
clean/traditional/organic productions which respect the
environment and safeguard health and local typical

The cooperative of Deir Qanoun El Ain (Kaza of Tyr, South-Lebanon) started in 1998 as an initial idea between twelve women to start producing nutritive and healthy food for their families in their homes. The women took the initiative to contact the YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) and asked for trainings on food production. With time, the women attended food exhibitions and realized that they had the potential to participate in such events.
This project is a part of ROSS Emergency Program "Emergency Initiative for Rehabilitation, Occupation, Services and Development". Its objectives is the restoring of the agricultural sectors (fish, cattle and bees) particularly significant in the Kaza of Hermel.
