In the French sense, decentralized cooperation exists when one (or several) local French authorities develop relations with one (or several) local foreign authorities. It includes establishing friendship relations or twinning among local and foreign municipalities in promoting activities abroad, development of local communities in countries, technical assistance, humanitarian actions, management of joint cooperative projects and interregional cooperation. This definition is included in the orientation law n ° 92-125 of 6 February 1992 on the territorial administration of the Republic.
This section presents the pilot projects of decentralized cooperation in Lebanon. Data included helps to highlight or develop the already existing partnership or those still under establishment. The team of Localiban welcomes any contributions at cooperation@localiban.org. Although this section includes many tables, extracted from research and field observations yet it does not identify all the planned or existing actions of local partnerships.
